You deserve.
I'll get to that in a minute.
You see, on November 23rd 2016, it was the first day of our 7 Secrets of Growing Your Bookkeeping Business Seminar Roadshow which began in Burnaby, BC.
We had 14 wonderful bookkeepers join us and it reminded me of something so important that I often forget about it.
So many people don’t believe in themselves.
It’s not just bookkeepers, I’m talking about the general population.
Yesterday I heard a couple of comments that highlighted this.
"I’ve been doing this for 27 years but I still question whether I’m good enough."
and...
"How do I get rid of the fear? It just paralyzes me."
I was standing there in front of the room listening to everyone talk about their business and situation and I just connected with the story all the people in the room had about themselves.
"I’m broken. I’m not good enough. I’m not smart enough, etc..."
It’s not true!!!!!
It’s the imposter syndrome and when you identify it, you can do something about.
What is needed to be successful in business is simply — confidence.
People want certainty and authentically confident people emit certainty. Not to be confused with arrogance.
Right now, you might be asking yourself… "but how do I get confidence?"
It’s a great question and thank you for asking.
Very simple.
Act in the face of fear.
That takes courage.
Once you do it once, you will get a tiny bit of confidence. Do it again. A little bit more.
Just keep repeating the above recipe then tah dah!
You have confidence.
But how do you actually act in the face of fear?
You find someone to push you off the diving board.
A coach, mastermind, support/accountability group or friends.
Someone who will lift you up when you say you're going to do something that scares you. Not someone who says, "You’re dreaming or why bother."
Yesterday, I gave my all to get through to the bookkeepers in the room.
They're worth it.
You’re worth it.
You're valuable.
You can do it.
I wish you were there as I want you to have what you want in life.
To be happy.
To be fulfilled.
To be loved.
To be loving.
To be successful.
You deserve it, so go out today and find somebody that you can lift up the way you want to be lifted and that will start a cycle of bringing opportunities for you to be courageous in the face of your fears.
Remember, what is on the other side of what scares you is the life you’ve always wanted.
To your success,
Michael
