As I sit down at my usual coffee shop, at the usual time, with my usual long black coffee one sugar I think of the topic for my blog this week. And the theme, consistency, came to mind.
Many that know me, know I am directed by my gut and if my gut tells me to write about Consistency, I will – because there is a story to it.
After only a few hours of broken sleep and hence a fuzzy head and a thought of I would love to stay in bed for a few more hours, but I knew I had to write my blog this week in the same way I do every other fortnight, and continue on with my other commitments and appointments of the day.? One of them is picking up my new puppy – maybe the cause of broken sleep, I’m not sure!!
Anyway, although I don’t feel energised to get on with the day, the following of my consistent actions over and over again knowing they will carry me through with what needs to be done.
So as soon as I sit down, I knew I am here to write this blog as a result of my previous consistent behaviour.
It could have been put it off, it could have been done after a few other appointments – but there was always the possibility of putting off it may not get done on time for the team to turn it around and get it to you at the same consistent time every week.
That’s the thing about creating consistent habits. Those consistent actions do not require thought or decisions. When you least feel like it, when you really don’t have the energy at that moment, if you follow what has succeeded in the past will pull you through these feelings of low energy or reduced ability to think.
What do you do, or could do, consistently even though your energy levels are against you?
Here’s to your business success.
