Although only weeks since the last BAS deadline was completed, it’s already a distant memory as we rush toward Christmas. Now you want to get those important jobs done in your business that you’ve put off, start planning the year, have meetings with prospects who finally realise they need a great bookkeeper, arrange gifts for family, clients and staff, watch your kids perform at various concerts and take part in many Christmas gatherings with family, friends and colleagues. Although that can be fun, it can also be overwhelming, especially when you are feeling drained after a long year. Perhaps you’ve lost your mojo.
In her recent blog, she said that mojo is a “special magic that keeps us moving forward and bouncing back after a setback. Sustain your mojo by creating a healthy combination of work, rest and play driven by a sense of purpose. Amongst all your hard work it’s important to take some time to feel the joy of your success. Do you take time to celebrate and reward yourself? Or is it all work and no play? Why celebrate? When it’s all about the work we may have the achievement but without taking a moment to celebrate we can become stressed and dull — being always focused on the busy. Similarly, when it’s all play, we may have excitement and fun, but without results so we can become drained and in denial about our life”.
So before you barrel into 2015, be generous with yourself. Celebrate your achievements (not just Christmas) and accept praise graciously from those around you who respect and admire you what you have achieved.
